Practical info (E+ courses)

Training courses by Edunaut

About the courses:

Our concept of the teacher training in-service courses is created in line with the European Commission’s  Quality standards for courses under Key Action 1 (learning mobility of individuals).

EDUnaut’s courses reflect the Erasmus+ programme’ priorities and vision and the European Union’s values and policies.

They enable the course participants to engage in intercultural learning with their peers from other countries and benefit from the experience in multiple ways. Their content is up-to-date, evidence-based and it relies on recent research and practice in the field.

Payment procedure:

  • The preliminary invoice for the confirmed course will be sent to you approximately one month before the course. Due date of the of the invoice is 10-14 days before the beginning of the course. The course fee needs to be paid by bank transaction. Once you complete the course, you will receive the invoice from us.

The course fee does not include:

  • Your transfer, accommodation and meals. Participants are expected to organize them on their own. We can only send our recommendations – related to your inquiries about accommodation and meal venues to explore. Of course, we will help you out with providing all relevant info related to local situation, which also includes local transport options.

The costs of the course:

If your sending organisation (usually it is the school) has an already approved Erasmus+ grant you can make the registration at our courses immediately, and your choice of the course will be based on your and your school’s interests and needs. The participants of the courses mostly get the Erasmus+ grant which enables them to cover the costs of our course fee (and enables them to cover the costs of travelling and accommodation, as well). On the other hand, the costs are not limited to exclusively coming from Erasmus+ grant and participants can cover the costs by themselves or by their sending organisation or they can be covered by other projects, as well.

Our participants:

  • Our courses are aimed at teachers and other professionals in the educational field (from primary, lower and upper secondary education, from VET, adult and special needs education). Participants coming from non-formal and informal education; community organizations, advocacy groups, volunteer groups, religious organizations, labor unions, academic institutions are also welcome to join our training courses. In addition to this, individuals interested in the course topic can also apply for the course.

Language expectations:

  • In order to fully participate and benefit from the course and ensure other participants’ quality experience, as well, participants are expected to have at least intermediate level of English language. This type of learning mobility is very interactive, consisting of discussions, group work and activities where language usage is needed –  while communicating with participants and the trainer. We understand that participants are not language teachers and your English doesn’t need to be perfect! We do not expect you to be! The point of the language usage is to practice and continue speaking even though you make mistakes, as this is perfectly natural and we all make them! But the point is that you need to be able to understand the languge of the course.

Location of the course: Split, Croatia

Duration of the course and the program:

Our courses are delivered in 2 variations:

2) 7 days courses:  Sunday – Saturday

They consist of 35-39 hours long program. They start on Sunday afternoon, ideally continue on Monday morning and finish on Saturday with the little shorter closing session. (Alternatively, there is a possiblity of the afternoon session/s, instead of the morning session/s, possiblity of the afternoon session/s, instead of the morning session/s, if the circumstances demand it.)

Our typical training course structure consists of:

  • welcome session on the first day with a cultural introduction to Croatia and to the region
  • introduction of participants, trainers, explaining the agenda for the training course and its outline
  • resolving any technical questions and practicalities related to the week of the course
  • discussing the expectations of the course and participants learning goals
  • ice breaker activities and energizers to gradually introduce the training, ensuring a comfortable and smooth start for everyone involved
  • evaluation session with individual and group reflections
  • sessions related to the each of the training course topics and learning objectives

Our methodology:

  • Our courses are created by an interdisciplinary group of experts, teachers and youth workers. They combine theory with practical application. Everything we deliver in our courses stems from our own experience and expertise, therefore we aim to be highly practical – to respond to the needs of our participants, as they have been our needs, as well! We aim to help and motivate them – by offering tips, strategies, recommended and useful activities they can implement immediately upon their return from the mobility but also offering wide theoretical basis and knowledge necessary to upgrade their competencies, useful for their future professional development. Our trainers are facilitators and guides who rely on constructivist approach (and emphasize active learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving by involving teachers in hands-on activities) but we also foster a supportive environment and encourage a culture of teamwork, through peer learning and collaboration, where teachers can learn from one another through observations, sharing best practices, and engaging in collaboration.

Preparation for the course:

1) Finalizing the program:

  • After official registration – when we receive your final confirmation of your participation in the course, your will receive the questionnaire. It serves as a direction for us when finalizing the program for the specific group of that session date. We are here also to listen and hear what your specific daily issues, concerns and needs are. Participants have the possibility to express what their themselves and explain what the problems you would particularly like to address in the course are. This also gives us information on your teaching background.
  • We also provide participants with an essential reading list for the course in order to prepare fully for the course. They also receive all necessary detailed information in an a training course info, containing information about the course, the country they visit and the region – to prepare fully for their week of learning mobility. They also receive the final version of the program (since there is a possibilty of very small changes, owing to the unexpected weather changes, for example.)
  • Participants will also receive the templates of the documents they need, such as Europass and Mobility Documents, where we fill in the information needed such as – the learning objectives, tasks of the participant, competences, etc. The participants add the parts where the information about their organisation is needed and then we sign and stamp the document.

After the course:

  • Participants will be asked to share results and knowledge about the Erasmus+ programme and their experience in a course within their organisation and with their colleagues. They should also share their experience and results with other organisations, their community and the wider public, upon their return. Trainers also suggest a reading list and recommend links, useful networks and materials that participants and their institutions might find useful.
  • Certificates: Each participant will receive a course certificate once your complete your training course. EDUnaut will also validate the acquired competences on the Europass Mobility upon your request. We support a green initiative and one of the basic principles of Erasmus + (“Environmental sustainability and responsibility”) by reducing paper usage through our policy – therefore we deliver everything in digital form, unless specifically requested otherwise from our participants.
